My Birth Story
She wasn't supposed to be here till July 1st they said from the sonogram pics, but I new she would be here earlier!! on June 16th at 8:02pm weighing 5lbs 9 0zs 18 inches long. I started having contractions around 9 am. thought they might be those braction hicks guys again, so decided to just take it easy around the house, my mom came over to visit for the weekend , and we were going to make her Yummy green chilli , by 1pm my contractions were getting closer and I guess this being my 4th child the pain was famuilar so to speak, I could remmeber the low contractions with the shooting pain in my side. We finally decided this might be labor, so called the doctor he said to come right over to the hospital , and be checked, I arrived at 4:30pm , the nurse Hooked me up to the monitors, I was experincing Contractions very strong ones, and they were around 7-8 mins apart, She checked me and I was 2 cms, They said well Since I was only 38 weeks , that I could walk and see what happens , and they said they would recheck me at 6:30pm. So I walked around labor and delivery for an hour 1/2 , around the last turn at 6:15pm The pain was getting so strong I told them I don't think I can do the walking anymore. So they rechecked I was 4cm. I called my hubby at home with the kids and my mom, said I was 4 cms , he says so what are they gonna do, I was like were gonna have this baby, get your butt up here, He was like for real, now! LOL!! Well within 10 mins they were moving me to a labor and delivery room, the walk to the room felt so long, but by the time we got to the room, my contractions were only 2 mins apart and so strong I was in tears and already screaming, The werid thing This time out of all of the kids I remembered this pain from the last 3 labors. It was 7pm and they rechecked me and I was already 6cms. My hubby was on his way still we live like 30 miles from the hospital. They starting setting up the room , Tried several times to put an IV in but I was so swollen they stuck me like 7 or 8 times and finally got one on the top of my hand, the hard part was them trying to stick me in between contractions. Finally at 7:30 I was 8cm and the contractions were so strong , It was to late for any pain meds to be put in , I did not want any I wanted this to be all natural. After this time just flew by, in between all the contractions, all I remember is my hubby walking in and me telling them I had the urge to push 3 times, them telling me NO , because the doctor was not there yet and then 5 mins lata doctor showing up, and me saying I have to push again , and says push, I say for real I can this time, And ONE PUSH and my SHELBY entered this world, She did have maconima ( however you spell ) all over her head, before the doctor cut her cord he suctioned her out and cleaned her face quickly, then my hubby cut the cord, She wasn't crying at first, but they kept telling me she was perfect and alert and healthy. My hubby held her and they said they were gonna take her overnight to the nuresy for check up to watch her with the Maconima 9 however you spell) . the next morning she was back in the room , and on the 18th they released us , we are home and she is wonderful. she is very quite , dosen't cry much, she went to the doctors today she weighed 5lbs 14ozs. She is eating 3ozs every feeding now. and growing so fast already. I am so happy it is over with, and she is finally here with us we have truly been BLESSED
