Not the best day |
First the whining - there are dirty dishes stacked in the sink, the toiilets won't flush, my smelly teen-age boy can't take a shower - because our well pump isn't working. It's nice not having a water bill to deal with every month, but it's the pits when something goes wrog in the well house. We may be getting a new pump ... for only $350!
Now the gratitude - I've thanked God often for this, but I'm thanking Him again for the small income I get from disability. First, it allowed us to have a Christmas last year, secondly it allowed us to pay for surgery on my son's cat's paw so it wouldn't get gangrenous and poison him, just last month it allowed us to buy my grandmother's fridge and return the one we had "borrowed" from friends for three years; now that income is allowing us to purchase a new pump (if we have to). My friend Vicki said, "Isn't it funny how God knows these things are coming and provides for them?"
So we'll be a little stinky and eat off paper plates and use the neighbor's toilet if we have to - and then we'll be all the more grateful for hot and cold running water when everything gets restored to normal.
LATER:
Good news! A hose just came loose so we don't have to buy a new pump and the water will be back on shortly!
