Hey gals.  Was just wondering if any one has visited or lived in California?  My husband is in the process of finalizing for a job out in San Francisco and I've never been there.  We've visited Chicago and I loved it, but from pictures I've seen California looks spread out just like it is here in Ohio.  Where would be some good locations for raising a family that also has good schools and transportation?  As far as housing, we're looking for something clean, safe, and livable, not necessarily fancy (outrageously expensive) to rent and we have three girls age 7,5, and 2.  Any suggestions or experience would be greatfully appreciated.  Thanks!
