Help Needed

Hello everyone!!!

I have a wonderful 5 1/2 year old son who since starting kindegarden has been acting out toward other children....i get a phone call from him and his teacher at least once a day. I have grounded and taken away all his toys and still no change. He doesnt know why he does it when asked. He says he will be good in school when we talk every morning about it.

Background on him, he is intellegant (no bias there) he scored reamarkable on his first test in kindegarden. Both parents live at home and are happily married. Has been a very healthy child his whole life. Doesnt act out toward his friends when they come over to our house.

Is this bordem???? I am at my whits end i have been crying everyday. I just dont know what else to do. Any advice would be much appreciated any questions i will answer.

Any opionions on fish oil researched it online sounds like a good plan...

Not sure my answer is the right one for you, but something I like to do with my kids is make sure they understand what consequences are. When they make good choices they see good results. For instance when my 2 year old twins go potty they get a little treat. When my 6 and 10 year olds clean their room or do thier chores they can earn a playdate with a friend for example. If they fail to do what their told or they do something they've been warned not to, then they look privilages. I take away whatever it is they enjoy doing like watching tv, computer time, whatever it needs to be. I also assign more chores if they're really being turds like wiping down my floorbase boards, or whatever I know they don't "enjoy" doing. :0) Hope that helps!

@ Julie....i use to be a preschool teacher but know am a single parent of two little ones......my best advise will be to address the issue when it happens not two hours later or so.....the other thgs is don't drop him off telling him to have a good day at school cause he already knows if he acts out that u would be spending time with him just talking to him about his poor choice....u c kids feed out any kind of attention bad or good its attention.....dont show him any reactions n he would stop his bad choice....another reason y he might be acting out could be cause his not get challenge enough so u might want to observe him n study is interest an work somthgs with the teacher so he stays focus n busy in class...hope it helps....pls let me known how thgs work out

Maybe have him tested for autism sounds crazy maybe but there are less severe cases
