They should probably make their bed, and help with little task according to their age. My kids unload the dishwasher...and fold laundry, clearly, not all the time. But the point is not how much they do it but that they understand they have to contribute.

I am against give them money in exchange for the services, they have to take it as their fair share not as an exceptional job!

I think that even if they complain, they found it rewarding to have some grown-up tasks.
