in need of a friend for my daughter and myself

are there any young mothers out there that live in or close to averill park with a child or chilren between the ages 1 and 3 that would like to have play dates with my daughter and me she is only 16 months old and we have no friends out here.

Dear Friendless: I went through the same thing. But I did the following. I noticed there was a park by the local kindergarten in town. Some of the moms took the kids there and let them play after school. So I decided to take my girl there. It was very nice because then she could make friends and could talk to some of the moms. The ones that were approachable. Eventually and since the town was a very small one we startiing seeing each other in different places in the neighborhood and then the sense of belonging started developing.
