Keeping Your Life In Balance!

Keeping your life in balance isn't always easy!  AS a mom of 3 kids, 5 and under, and working a home business, keeping my life and day to day activities in balance can be a challenge!  I have learned a few steps to create a more peaceful, in balance life that has made me a better mom, a better business owner and a better wife!!

Here are a few ways you can keep your life and day to day activities in balance and change your life:

Stay Organized – Keep track of all your ideas and daily to-do's on paper.  You could use an electronic device, but your ideas and thoughts on paper are much more likely to get completed when you have a daily planner to write down anything or check off completed tasks quickly!

Plan Ahead – Plan out your day the night before~ thinking about what activities you need to accomplish for the day and/or for the week.

Prioritize – Keep your eye on the most important tasks.  Do them first!  A great book to read is by Brian Tracy – Eat That Frog.  This book talks about doing the activity that you dislike the most.  If you complete the task you are most likely to put off during the day FIRST, you will feel more accomplished and better about your day than if you kept putting it off.

Get Up Early – Be sure to get a full 8 hours of sleep the night before so you can gain extra time in your day.

Limit Unimportant Activity – checking emails, or any other activity that might get in the way of your important tasks should be kept to a minimum.  Try checking emails twice per day instead of several times per day, as well as Facebook or anything else that can get in the way of your schedule.

De-clutter Your Work Space - It's important to get organized and have a workspace that is clutter free and clean so you can focus on what you need to accomplish.

Set Goals and Deadlines – One of my favorite quotes are "Goals are dreams with deadlines", so be sure to set strong goals and set a date to complete each task so you can be on the right track for success!

Take Time Off – Take a day to spend on yourself and your family!  I recommend setting aside a few hours each day where you can spend time with your family.  For me and my kids, afternoons are our special time to play and dinner time is our time to talk about our day, catch up with the kids and what they have to say!  If you take some time each day and have a certain time set aside for your family, you will enjoy working and feel more balanced than ever!
