Son Heading To Marines

I was wondering if there are any moms out there with advice for this mom...My oldest is heading to boot camp in Oct or before hand and I am thrilled to death with his choice, because it is perfect for him. But all I do is cry when I think about it too much. How do I let him know I am really behind him on this decision?

Hi Lynn,

I Joined the Marine Corps when I turned 18. My family wasn't a support system for me but If you want to be there for your son Send Mail. Try to send letters every day if not every few days. It is their only connection to the outside world while going through the BIGGEST change of their life. Avoid "care Packages" with goodies and things but you can send small photos every now and again. To make it easy for him to keep organizes try to make them Wallet size.

They keep everything in a single Footlocker and the space is limited. I emailed you some pictures of what I was talking about. :)
Enjoy.
