Have you tried a swing? My little one would only sleep in a swing for about 3 months, then transitioned to a crib with no problem, I think he just liked the constant motion and the fact that he was snuggled into something. I think it was calming. Hope it helps. Good luck! |

I am in the same boat. My little guy is 7 weeks old, and just started going to sleep around 10 and sleeping until 3 or 4...a life saver!!!!!! I found out by accident the vibrator on the bassinet works! and sleeping across the room helped my sanity too!
I made sure he had a clean diaper, was well fed, and slightly drowsy (my singing him a song worked) I put him in the bassinet (part of our wonderful pack & play) popped in a binky covered him with his favorite blanket pushed a button and walked away...(this was after 3 hours of nonstop crying)...within 5 minutes pure bliss he was out-cold and sleeping! I had to check on him for my peace of mind every few hours, and restarted the vibrations...its working wonders for everyone...Best of Luck! |

i've learned that if you take a cup of milk put in the microwave for 10 seconds. read a small book or get a nursery rhyme cd, don't let him/her see you leave the room. |

give your baby a warm bath then take him to bed with you (if you are a VERY light sleeper) put him in one of those thingys that hold him in place then give him his bottle or breast and stroke his hair and sing to him. he will fall asleep and sleep better for the first month or so if he is really close to you. he just needs the comfort that only you can provide. i have a 7m/o and as 2 y/o and i had to do that with both of them. at about 2 months i started using a swing. my baby swing is a second mommy lol my 2 y/o still tries to get in it but unfortunately hes too big. it will get better in time. just charish these days they really do go by fast. |
