Five Simple Rules for Work-Life Balance – Part 1

Word is bond.

For the most part, we all do our best to keep our word...but, what happens when we overcommit? What if you made a commitment, and then decided to walk away? How do you feel? Have you somehow lost your integrity because you decided you just couldn't do it anymore? The answer: a resounding NO!

Did you catch the key word: overcommit. It's important to know that YOU have limitations. Every opportunity that presents itself, does not have to be seized by YOU! Here are a few questions to ask yourself before making that next commitment (that will probably make you burst at the seams):

1) Who is this really benefitting?

This is rather simple. If your name doesn't come up anywhere in the answer...don't do it. Just don't do it.

2) Does this commitment connect with my goals?

Always keep in mind what you want to focus on in life; your life purpose. Find it; connect with it...and continue in it. Stay on course.

3) Who requested this commitment from me?

I'm sure this question caught you from left field. Honestly think about it: who just asked you for the commitment. Instead of being concerned with how you will be viewed from this, really analyze and consider the source of the request. This will definitely help you determine how to move forward.

Remember: Be InspirING !!!
