new to area

Hello, I am in the middle of leaving my home in Canada to move to Roseville to begin a new life with my soon to be husband and his two daughters (7 & 15).  I have two sons (8 & 10).  Every day is a new learning experience, especially blending a family.  I am very unfamiliar with the area and the boys and I miss our family back home, even though we are happy to begin this new adventure together.  I would like to meet parents that are or have been in this position.

I can't tell you anything about the area in which you are living, but I do have experience with blendng families. Ours are 11, 8, 8, and 4 (only one girl--11). We have been married one year and it has been challenging. We have made a committment to not allow the kids to divide us. I think that is the most important thing you can do. Stay committed to each other always. The kids will try anything and differences in parenting styles can be hard to adjust to. Good luck!
