baby copeing skills

i have a toddler that has  had medical problems with acid reflux all of his life that cause him to have a painful tummy and cries for hours until he vomits when we have ever tried  to get him to sleep on his own, so he to this day, still sleeps with us. my question is, how important is it for him to sleep by himself?  i figure i would wait until he got to where his problem has lessened or he talks better, and understands better. i would also like to take a pole,(reearch on my own,) how many of you parents let your babies cry till they fall asleep, how often, and how long do you tolerate their cries before you check on them ,(or give in?)

try mila! it has helped me with my multiple sclerosis!, so much so that i don't need chemo therapy anymore, and it's because of this food called mila. here is some info:
These statistics will blow your mind...especially the stuff about kids!!!

The root cause of most every major disease, illness or pain is inflammation.
- Omega-3s are a natural anti-inflammatory.
- Omega-3s are an essential fatty acid. That means it is absolutely essential to have Omega-3s in your diet, or you will not be healthy.
- The body does not make Omega-3s. Omega-3s must be consumed.
- Omega-6s cause inflammation. Most of what we eat (processed, packaged foods and oils, etc.) are high in Omega-6s.
- Very few foods are high in Omega-3s.

Sad, but true statistics:
- 33% of Americans suffer arthritis
- 23% of Americans suffer from hyper tension (high blood pressure)
Cancer:
- Cancer kills more kids than any other disease
- 1/10th of all cancers are colorectal cancers
- With proper consumption of omega-3s you can reduce the risk of colorectal cancer by 66% and when adding the proper amount of fiber that number jumps to over 95%. (Mila has both!)
-1 in 8 American women will be diagnosed with breast cancer.

Scary facts about children:
- By age 3, American kids already have fatty deposits in their arteries.
-By age 12, 70% of American kids have developed beginning stages of hardening of the arteries.
-1 in 4 children in America is obese.
-50% of obese kids remain obese as adults.
-Over 8 million kids have asthma.
-7% of all American school kids have ADHD.
-1 in 150 newborns are born with full-blown autism.
-1 in 56 others fall somewhere in the autistic spectrum.
-Omega-3s effect autism very positively and Omega-6s have a very negative effect on autism conditions including:
-Displexia
-Displaxia (we used to call that mental retardation)
-ADHD
-And many other conditions related to autism
The proper amount of omega-3s will:
-Reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s by 37%
-Reduce the risk of all heart related sudden death by 81%
-Reduce pre-term birth rates by 50%...just to name a few!

Omega-3s have been shown to have dramatic effects on:
- Lupus
- Diabetes
- MS
- Most all Gastrointestinal Disorders
- Prostate Disorders
- Migraines
- Rheumatoid Arthritis
- Schizophrenia
- Fatigue
- Psoriasis
- Bipolar
- Asthma
- Emphysema
- Healing of Burns
- Osteoporosis
- Ulcers
- Parkinson's Disease
- Menopause
- Acne and most Skin Disorders
- Stroke
- Glaucoma
- Lyme Disease
- Depression
- Acid Reflux
- Fibromyalgia
- Irritable Bowel Syndrome
- Chronic pain
- Crohn's Disease
- ADD & ADHD
- The list goes on and on …

My 23 month old used to scream so hard when we put him to bed that he would puke but i am not sure it had anything to do with acid reflux, He has a bad gag reflex so I figured that he would cry so hard he would puke. I use to put him down and let him cry but when i would hear him starting to cough I would go to him and most of the time I wold end up laying down with him until he went to sleep and then putting him in his own bed so when he woke up at night he was in his bed. (an extra bed in the babies room works well and YES a grown woman and baby can fit into a toddler bed-LOL) after a while he got where he would go to sleep in his bed.(don't get me wrong, I cleaned up my share of puke) Just be patient and give it some time, if one method doesn't work after a couple weeks try something else but I would not let him sleep in the bed with me all night anymore, that just reinforces the problem.
