1 year old and chruch!

My husband and I decided to visit my moms chruch tonight, and of course we took are very intergetic 13-month-old daugher. It was quite an adventure, I must sayLaughing! We got there 30 minutes late, it started a 6pm, oops! As soon as we walked into the additorium my cell phone rings, we walk out of the church so I can anwer the phone, then after I hang up, my cell anounces that I have a message waiting Embarassed I turned my phone off while thinking well that was fun, what a way of not being noticed coming into church late, lol.

We finally sit down on the back pew and the adventure begins.... I sat our Tory down beside me on the pew (there was no nursery), and she immediately crawls over the the man beside her and waves saying "Hi there!" as she touches his arm. I put her in my lap and she became a wiggle worm, so I thought well I'll let her stand on my lap, boy was that the wrong thing to do. She leans forward reach out and up and before I could get her hand down she touches the bald mans head infront of us. So I tell her no no, we don't do that. Then I put her on the floor in front of me with toys, thinking that she would play. I was so wrong...I looked down and there she was trying to crawl up under the pew in front of us. Again I picked her up and tried to give her a sippy cup, that didn't work. My hubby took her which helped all of 2 minutes. Then the preacher starts to pray, and when he does, she throws her sippy down and talks and jabbers along with him. I said, "Amen! Let's go!"

As we are getting up to go the preacher thanks us for visiting in front of the whole chruch, we turned beet red said thank you and left as quickly as we could. When we got Tory in her car seat, she smiled and didn't say another word until we were almost home! I am sooo amazed at how talkative Tory has become in the last few weeks especially at chrurch!

The first time she began talking and jabbering in church was last week, every time the preacher would say something she would point and jabber and talk. If people clapped or laughed she would. I took her out of the service, but she still continued to jabber, talk, and then squeal at the top of lungs. People told me not to worry about it, she was just being 1, but how do we teach her how to be quite in church and other public places. We tell her No, No, be quite, Shh! but that is not working EmbarassedSurprised! I was so embarrassed

Oh the fun of being a first time mom!
