WHAT IS A TRAVEL CONSULTANT?

Hi, my name is Vickie Thomas, and I am a travel consultant.  I own Magnolia Vacations.  It is a home-based travel agency that specializes in making your travel dreams come true with a touch of southern hospitality.  This is the first edition of my travel blog.  Its purpose will be to help the everyday traveler answer questions about traveling.

I have over 22 years experience in the travel industry.  I started my career in travel as a trip-tip “gal” at AAA-Alabama.  I progressed from there to managing an AAA-Alabama location and then to owning my own agency.  I made several professional stops along the way that have given me an insight in the travel industry.  I work from home and I make it easier on my clients by fitting my schedule to the lifestyle of my client.   I schedule consultation appointments for my clients at their home or office.  I am the travel consultant that travels to the customer. 

A true travel consultant is someone who has experience or training in the procedures of booking all types of travel arrangements.  Travel arrangements include, but are not limited to booking airline reservations, hotel reservations and car rental arrangements.  In addition, a true travel consultant can assist you in choosing the perfect vacation for your family.  Your perfect vacation might include a cruise vacation or a land based vacation somewhere outside the United States.  I will help you make the right decision that is perfect for your family.

A professional consultant will not only be able to make your arrangements, but will make sure that you have all the proper travel documents that are required for your upcoming vacation.  I can advise you if you will need a passport for your destination or if a visa is required to enter a foreign country.  All this personal attention will ensure that you will have a worry-free vacation.
