what do i do

i told my mother about going after my daughters birth father for child support and even though she is going to support me in the fact that i am going after him she is making it sound like he is going to get custody of her. and with the fact that he has a DWI with vehicular manslaughter conviction and is now on probation and his sister has money that he would get his sister to help him in what ever way he could. what do i tell her?

the reason that she did not think it was a good thing for him to be involved with our daughter becouse of the things he has done or said.be the fact that he was trying to be controlling and made commintsthat his sister has money and that he would do what ever he could do for the child.

First off, you are the mother. and in most states, unless you have done something absolutely horrific, the child will stay in your custody. I applaude (misspelled?) you for going after child support. You have to put your childs needs first- and she deserves her fathers help- even if it can only be fiscal. And as far as him not having the best behavior and attitudes, as long as he isn't telling her anything inappropriate or doing anything with/in front of her, then he's just a jerk- like so many men, but nothing to worry about.
Time changes EVERYTHING, you never know if five years down the road, he could be a diffirent guy, a man who became a good father. Just always put your daughter first in all your descions, and you will do ok.
Best of luck and God Bless

i think she is trying to be able to keep my daughter safe as well as i am because we just don't know what he is going to try to pull because of the fact that he has made several comments / threats about his sister whom has money and his mom whom stays at home with his sister to help them with the 2 children she has
