What should I expect????

IM 2 months away from the delivery room,  and I was to late to sing up for birthing classes so I'm basically on my own on what to expect.  I just want to know what other women went threw in the delivery room, and how the husbands comforted them??  That way I'm not too surprised when the time comes.  Thank you so much for your help Smile

I didn't go to the classes with my son and the nurses were helpful and my husband was patient and massaged my back and stuff. I am sure you can google "soothing techniques during labor" and it should help.
Women have been doing this for centuries without a class it will be ok just be positive and it might hurt it might not but at the end you have a gorgeous baby and you forget everything else :)

It is an experience you will never forget! This is what I found helpful to me:

Try to relax and breath. I know this sounds crazy, but you forget things like that when you are in the moment. The nurses were very helpful with this too.

I also loaded my IPODshuffle with all kinds of music and that really helped me to focus and was a great distraction also.

It is also good if you can just kind of go with the flow. Don't get your heart set one particular way of giving birth: things can change quickly and you never know.

Most importantly, let your husband know what you need. Don't be afraid to communicate with him because he may not know exactly what to do.

I wish you the best; having a baby is the best thing ever!

I did not go to birthing class but I went to yoga class that really help me to use my breathing. I was also watching the serie "Baby Story" on TLC very informative.

I just co-authored a Guide for Viewpoints on Preparing Mind and Body for Childbirth. Here's a link... maybe it will help?

I tell you one thing, wether you take the class or not, "baby" is going to come when you least expect it. I have taken classes that where not very useful. My advice to you is spend your time on something else like decorating or organizing the room. Maybe even excercise, excercise makes your labor easy. If you feel as though you will need instruction request a "Dullah" when you check into the hospital.
