kristy, my son is in the same shoes. we have a g-i dr,(gastrointestenal). he has been diagnosed with "gerd" (gastro esophageal reflux desease) and is on previcid twice a day, which helps some. he vomits frequently. we also occationally give him malox (for those very noticeable tummy aches, he told us the right dose for him/how often.) he doesnt cry "bloody murder" /pain anymore but still fusses sometimes. he is 26 months old now. he also has a few other problems too, but anyway,he has an exstremely sensitive stomach. even the slightest feeding schedule change or cold can affect his tummy. |

My daughter also had this problem when she was a baby. We gave her a 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of the plain Mylanta. It worked wonders. Good luck.... |

Hi my son also had colic and we gave him gripe water. It worked very well along with rubbing his belly, holding him like a football on his belly when we carried him, and putting warm towels from the dryer on his belly. I know what you are going through, my son had it for 6 months, but it will pass I promise you. Also we put a little bit of cereal in his bottle to help keep him from spitting up his bottle. |

My son also cried uncontrolably. Every time i put him down he screamed. The only way he or I could get any sleep was if iI slept in the recliner with him proped up on my chest. It was enough pressure on his stomach he was able to rest. He was finally diagnosed with GERD and Food Allergies. They put him on prevacid, and it helped. We also had to put him on a hypoallergenic formula. He was on NEOCATE. It was expensive, but it really helped. The swelling went down in his stomach, and he could finally keep down most of the formula and rest peacefully when i put him down. Good luck |

yes, my son was the same way, since birth. he has "gerd", (gastro esophageal reflux desease,) and is on previcid twice a day, which has helped him alot! if it hasnt been done yet, of being refered to a pediatric G-I dr., i think this should be done. the sooner, the less this child will have to cry, from reflux pain! |

My daughter (now 3) has had reflux since 2 weeks old. Yikes! It's definitely a challenge (to put it as an understatement.) She slept upright in her car seat. But she is also still to this day lactose intolerant. A lot of times the 2 go hand-in-hand. She was put on lactose-free formula which helped a lot and Zantac which was changed to Prevacid later. She is still on Prevacid and still drinks lactose-free milk. Together those helped but she still always wanted to be held. I wish now I would have gotten one of those strap-on carriers and made life easier. My hands would have been free and she would have been close to me. Do yourself a favor and try one if you think it will help you b/c you'll have some freedom even while holding the baby. Good luck! Remember that in a couple of years it won't be so bad. |

my daughter was colic for 4 months. the longest 4 months of our lives i think! but i dont really remember much. lol we would turn on the kitchen faucet on high (we had hella water pressure) and it would instantly calm her down. the football hold on her tummy and pressure on her abdoman (right below the rib cage). and we put her on soy formual which helped alot. ALOT! she has been on lwhole milk since one. she isnt lactose intolerant but the soy just helped her little tummy alot. remeber this, they say fussy (understatment) babies have higher IQ's than ones that arent. lol not sure if its true, but my daughter si fricken advanced for her age. not bragging, well kinda, but compared to other kids we know her age she is. so theres a bright side to colic! :) hope this helps. good luck. and dont be afraid to ask family for help. |
