My dear sweet hubby is in the ICU
Tuesday(2-17-09) Dh went to work like normal and around 4pm he said he started to feel a big bad and by 8pm he felt worse, when he started to head home around 10:30 he told me he thought he was getting sick but by the time he got home he felt better so he just went to bed and thought that maybe by sleeping late he would sleep some of it off....well Wednesday(2-18-09) Dh had a fever of 102.9 so I took him to the Doctor and he told us to go to the ER.  So at 4:30pm we signed in at NorthSide Forsyth with his heart rate in the 130s, low blood pressure(around 70/30), fever(102.4), cold chills, and with his left lung hurting every tme he took a deep breath.  Right after we got into a er room they needed to draw more blood for another culture(this time from his left arm) and it took the girl over an hour to find a vein to give her blood but while she was doing that he looked at me and said 'I feel dizy' and then his face drained of color and his heart rate dropped to 50...they got it back up and gave him some oxygen and it hasn't happend since.  BUT after about 4hrs and a ton of needle sticks and xrays they came back and said that he had Pneumonia. So at midnight they took him to the ICU and told me I wasn't allowed to stay with him so I had to come home, I swear it broke my heart to leave him there.  My parents came up and so did my mil and fil and my parents took ds home with them so I wouldn't have to worry about him also.

TODAY I got up to the hosptial right as visiting hours started and he already looked better than he did yesterday.  His heart rate was down to the low 100s and his bp had gone up to the low 100s(the top number is the one they are worried about) but his temp is still in the 100s but they aren't really too worried about that unless it gets up to 102 or higher.  They are giving him 2 different antibiotics, fluids and pain meds and he is still in good sprits.  When I first got there today they said that he might get moved into a regular room by the afternoon BUT when the dr came in she said that he would have to stay one more night in the ICU but we hope by tomorrow afternoon or tomorrow night he'll be in a regular room.

I just hope that by Sunday or Monday at the latest he'll be well and back home where he belongs.

That must have been so scarey for you. I don't know what I would do without my husband. Hope all is well soon.
