My 25 month old daughter has the rotavirus right now ,too. This is her 4th day.She is weak after going thru vomiting and heaving the second day of the infection. Today the vomiting stop, thanks to some help from Benadryl which her pediatrician prescribed for the vomiting. Now she is having diarrhea.I'm trying to rehyrate her with Pedialyte and G2 Gatorade 2 oz. at a time but she somtimes refused it. Anybody tried anything like flat coke? I s there any suggestion for anything for her to drink ,one that work with your child? Thanks a lot in advance!
My 3 grandaughters and my son all had it, they all had to go into the hospital and have IV fluids for dehydration. The dehydration causes the nausea dry heaves, Please take your kids in to be safe, esp if they have fevers. You too mom and dad! I had it and the fever makes you shake uncontrolably, unable to stop throwing up and feels like a mac truck hit you.
My girls were alot better after IV fluids that stopped the nausea.
They would drink a tiny bit of non acidic juice in some water with ice. I put it in the sippy cup so they could lie down and drink. When they could keep that down we would give them a little chicken noodle soup and or saltines. Hope everyone feels better soon!
