Weaning off of the breast...

While I have thoroughly enjoyed breast feeding my son, it is time to wean.  Any advice?  He's 23 months old and while he starts his night off in the crib, he winds up in our bed.  I don't mind his sleeping with us but he's constantly up in the early morning hours wanting to nurse.  He gets very upset when I tell him no and I'll admit...I'm tired so I let him.  He's home with me two days during the week and weekends.  The days he is in daycare, as soon as we get home it's "Nurse you?"  ThanksSmile!!

what if you pumped breast milk and put it in a sippy cup so that he got used to drinking it from that? then gradually you could cut down the number of times he got these...it's only a suggestion, I'm trying to wean my baby too (he's 9 months old) before I go back to work. the only way he'll nap for an hour is to start breastfeeding in bed and then if I leave his side, he wakes up so I just end up napping too....

Thank you. I can try that. I used to fall asleep with my son too. I'm sure you need the rest as well. I know I did. Sometimes I would nurse him in his room until he fell asleep and then lay him down in his crib. Sometimes he would wake up but mostly he would stay asleep (I know this isn't recommended but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do). This way you can get stuff done and when he wakes up, you know that he is safe in his crib and you don't feel like you have to run to him to make sure he doesn't fall off of the bed (like I would do sometimes). Thank you again for the advice and good luck to you!
