my daughter is 3 1/2yrs old and we started potty training when she was about 18months, but it did not go over well, so we took a break. since at that time she barely spoke we decided to wait until she could better communicate with us. she has made tremendous progress in her speech, and my husband and i feel she can handle potty training now. she has been out of diapers for over a year now, and has been using pull-ups. for christmas we got her a potty training baby doll, that has a working toilet and sink, it does all the phrases and sound effects, she seems to have taken a liking to it. so we got her a new potty chair like looks simialr to a real toilet in hopes she will want to try and use the potty like a big girl. i would like to hear from any of you that have had issues or successes with potty training dispite the communication barriers.
