Hi Daphne
I opted not to do medications for 13-14 years with my son. I finally had to resort to them. I threw up the first day I gave them to him as I felt like a major failure as a mother. One of my friends looked at me and said "it isn't about what you feel or want anymore. Your son needs the extra help." The Feingold Diet worked for years for him. I now have my daughter on the Feingold Diet and some essential oils are being used as well. We will see if this is all she will need come the teenage years.
For those that can drink a cup of caffeine in the morning you are lucky - count your blessings.
Good luck

The 3 Steps to Conquering ADHD is a book that talks about the lack of vitamins and minerals. The concept mentions a Cal/Meg supplement that is supposed to work. I'm testing it on my son currently. He responds better when I add reading discipline books like, "I'm Not Bad, I'm Just Mad", also "Why Can't I?"
