14 month old that is scared to sleep alone.
Hi, I have a wonderful 14 month old daughter who hates to sleep alone. She started having night terrors at 10 months and nothing besides us laying down with her has help. At the moment, my husband and I are sleeping in different beds because she keeps waking up in the middle of the night and won't go back to sleep unless one of us is there. The main problem is that when she sleeps, she's all over the bed. Its hard for us to get any sleep when a flailing body constantly moving. Does anyone know how to sooth a toddler so she can go back to sleep by herself?

Have you tried having some soothing music playing throughout the night?

I don't know anything to help you. But I wanted to post to tell you that you are not alone! My son is like that. I know why, but it still sucks. My son has been in my bed for the past month because he has night terrors from what we have been through with his dad. BLAH! It sucks! Good Luck!

My 14 month old daughter is the same way. They do grow out of it from what I understand. The key is to make your daughter feel secure and safe and that sleeping is not scary. We have chosen to just roll with it and let our daughter sleep with us. They are only little for a short time. Enjoy this time and know it will pass.
