Poo everywhere!! |
My son is almost 2 1/2 and lately he takes his diaper off immediatley after he pees or poops. If we are not there immediatley to change his diaper he plays with it!! So we thought it was time to introduce the potty.....well he still does the above but now takes his poop out of his diaper and puts his poop right beside his potty, not in it. All this happens during sleep time. What can I do to get him to poop and pee inside his potty? He sits on it after I ask him to, but it's like punishment to him. Help!! |

That's the problem, it's punishment to him. I would suggest serving his last meal & limiting his fluids at least 3hrs before bedtime. Put Onesie brand tshirts(the buttons are pretty strong) at sleeptime. Keep up with potty training. Taking their diaper off themselves, is a true sign he's ready to potty train. Remember he's pooped on himself all his life, that's what he knows. My husband & I started taking him to the bathroom with us, everytime we went, he would sit on the potty in all his clothes, keeping us company, waiting for us to finish. First, he had to see what the toilet was for & get comfortable sitting on it. Explain what noises he's hearing that your making, get excited about mommy/daddy peeing. Once, he's comfortable sitting, start taking his diaper off while he sits. Once, he's pee'd start taking him in time increments (celebrate his 1st like nothing else!!!!!, continue to applaud every one after that). We did half hr increments, then changed to hr increments, then it was "I need to go potty." Take him potty just before u lay him down for sleeptimes. We have a musical potty chair, the kids enjoyed/enjoy. This is going to take time. Maybe a long time. My sons trained quickly. My daughter started taking her diaper off when she was about 18months, we started her training. Now she 2 yrs 9mo. she tells me she needs to "potty" which is pee, but does not--refuses to booboo still. Even now if I am not in her presence, she will not always interrupt what she's doing, to go pee. I have to go remind her to potty. We're still in training, it's definitely her pace. I just stay consistent & patient. God Bless. |

I have 2 years 5 months old twins. How to potty train them? I am alone at home with them with no helper. They refused to use the potty. |
