Why are play dates so difficult? (Myrtle Beach)

I live in Myrtle Beach....

Can't i just finish the post then and there? I wish, but alas no. I am a fully time nanny for an almost 3 year old little boy. He's an awesome child. Relates well to adults and also plays well with other kids. He's academically advanced for his age, but even so, he is still very much a little boy who plays well with kids younger and older than him.

Thing is, we have difficulty maintaining play dates. I've been turned down by multiple "moms" groups simply because I'm not his mom. The one group tha accepted me is in NMB and we dont go up that way often so we go to the once a month or so play dates they do in MB. With Myrtle Beach being so transient, we many times get a play date and then within months the kids move. There aren't many other full time nannies in the area, and for some reason theres ALOT of moms who dont want to let me be a part of their club even though I do alot of the same things they do!

I guess I"m just frustrated. Does anyone else have issues with play dates? If so you aren't by chance in myrtle beach?LOL
