HELP! I need sleep! |
Hi, my son will be 9 months next month, he is not sleeping at night. And now he gets up in the middle of the night and thinks its time to play! He wakes up as much as 10 times a night, and some days he is up at 4 am and ready to go! I can't take it anymore. I need some sleep! Any advice would be great! I have a routine at night, you know the same thing every night before bed...to an extent. He is well fed and doesn't want to eat at night, he just wakes up. I have made the mistake of letting him sleep with me for the most part, and now I am trying to get him to sleep in his crib. I know he is capable of sleeping all night because he's done it before, before we moved into our new place (which was in Jan.!!) he's slept all night in his crib once. But not since. And now he wakes up and thinks its play time at 2 am! PLEASE HELP! |

Don't feel bad. My son is almost 2 years old and still not sleeping through the night. |

this is what I did but some people probably would not like to do it. I didn't like it either but it worked. once I knew that my kids could sleep threw the night, when they would wake up at night I would let them cry them selvs back to sleep, it took a couple of nights and then they slept threw the night. I cryed about as much as they did but it did work. Take heart he will sleep soon. |

You need to let him learn to soothe himself. Make sure he has a blanket or stuffed toy to comfort him, or a toy such as the Fisher Price aquarium that plays music he can turn on himself. Go in and check on him once in a while, about every 10 minutes, but don't pick him up and don't turn on lights or let him play. He will learn quickly, though it will be difficult for a few nights. Stick to your routine as best you can, and keep interaction during the night to a bare minimum. |
