HI,

New to the site, might have even posted in the wrong place... But I am 7 weeks pregnant and I worry that my husband is either in denial about the childs impact on our life or just doesn't want to deal with it. I am done all the research, hospital stuff and all which isnt a problem but I am just concerned. Anybody have any thoughts or theories or solutions.

7 weeks is early. Give him time, he may just need time to soak it all in. Try to involve him as much as you can in the pregnancy- going to doctor appointments, childbirth prep class. If you have any friends who have children, maybe spending some time with them will help him see what it's like.

Don't push the idea too much, just involve him in everything and let him learn on his own. It can be overwhelming, especially if he doesn't have experience being around babies or people who have small children.

Congratulations on your pregnancy.

Even if it is hard for him to go to your regular check ups don't sweat it but tell him when you have the first ultrasound that that one is important for you and you want him there. It sinks in more when you start showing more also. Be patient with him it should sink in soon. worry when it's class time and he doesn't want to go.
