Do any of you have kids that throw themselves around in fits? My 11 month old daughter is an angel, but when she has her moments she really has her fun with it. One of her signature moves is the "throw back", which my wife and I have I think appropriately labeled. Its the one where she launches herself backwards subjecting her head to whatever gets in its way (normally the floor). It is the most concerning move in her arsenal, yet the other day she also managed to give herself a little shiner with a forward head butt to the toy chest. You would think that she would learn not to throw herself around after getting hurt a few times, yet she continues these actions with no self regard for her own safety. I've already spoken with some doctors and nurse friend who all claim that this is common and at times unavoidable for the child, but does anyone have any advice/suggestions on tactics to help my daughter and other kids in this stage?
I have had a few of mine that started doing that..I have found that putting them in their crib or pack and play when throwing a fit..explaining that if they want to through a fit...they can do it here, where it won't disturb anyone else...they don't like being alone, so it has worked well for ours.
A few times of enforcing this has worked wonders for our family.
