starting baby food

Ok I actually have a few questions...

How old was your child when you first started feeding them with a spoon?

How fast did he/she catch on?

What were the foods you started them on?

my daughter is 6 months and i started slowly at 5 1/2 with veggies. i was told to do the same food for a period of 3-4 days to see about allergies. i have to use 2 spoons because she likes to feed herself also so she helps. i am doing veggies first then fruits because i want her to eat her veggies before all the sweet stuff. remember that it will take time because they are used to pushing out with their tongue. Also if they really don't like what you introduced. give up on that flavor and introduce it later again.
Good luck.... so far she likes squash and sweet potatoes and is okay with peas but not a favorite. and i tried gerber first but i just bought beech nut and she loved that better my hubby said it had a better taste. (he is the taste tester so she can see how good it is....hehehe i am way too picky but i hope she is like her dad and brothers and likes everything)

my son was about 5 months old when I started him on baby food. Just like Kristhal said do the same food for 3-4 days then switch to something else. Make sure you start out with veggies. you don't want the baby to always want sweet stuff. I used plastic baby spoons and my son took to them very quick. Good luck.

I started my daughter on really soupy cereal at 3 months old. She was giving me clues that she was ready for it, and she had no problem. She took to the spoon really well. It was closer to 4 months that I introduced veggies to her and then fruits after that. She is 8 months old right now and eats like a champ!
