Naptime battle
Naptime battle
My 6 1/2 month old daughter is having the worst time taking naps. She refuses to take them anywhere but in my arms. I have no idea how it even started either. My only guess would be that at her old daycare(we just switched) they wouldn't lay her down and if they did it was in a bouncy seat. I have never let her take a nap in a bouncy seat. I also don't think they were paying a whole lot of attention to her and so she didn't want me to let her go when I finally picked her up after work. I have tried laying her down after she falls asleep in my arms, only for her to wake up instantly and start screaming as if I am abandoning her. She doesn't calm herself down well either, so I know the cry it out thing will not work for her. She sleeps well throughout the night. I just don't know what to do anymore about naptime. Suggestions please!!!

When my son was younger he got use to sleeping on me and I was just sick and tired of laying there for three hours while he takes his naps, so I just broke him cold turkey. If you can stand the crying, let her cry it out and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I hope for the best. Good Luck.

I have tried that, but the "cry it out" method doesn't work for her. She just screams until she cries harder and then pukes and cries harder and so on and so forth. In fact I tried that yesterday, and after 15 minutes she was crying to the point where I would say she was possibly having a panic attack. Don't get me wrong here, I know that works with some babies but unfortunately not mine. Thank you for your advice though! I will still keep it in mind in case it will work in the future.
