sick baby
my daughter has been sick since thanksgiving. it was a cold and then a cold and a gasteral intestinal virus together and then she jsut had a bad cough. well now that turned into pnemonia. i noticed yesterday little red bumps on her belly back and face/scalp. they werent sticking out so i thought they were heat rash or soemtihng from sweating. now they are sticking out and i have made sure she hasnt got sweaty at all since i noticed them. we cant think of anything new she has had to cause an allergic reaction. the doc said yesterday that they were heat rash or her body purging and trying to get hte sick out. ive never heard of that. any advice or thoughts of what it could be and how to get rid of them?

Did your ped see her in person? It could be a rash, but it could also be chicken pox or something like that. I would just keep her in cotton clothes (so that it doesnt irratate her skin) maybe some corn starch powder on her too. Keep an eye on her temp and give her lot of fluids. The skin is our largest organ and it will work to help clean out the body, like rashes. I also hope that she is feeling better soon.

my child has had somewhere around the same problem but the rashes aren't there. I would make sure that what ever any doctor tells you about a serious problem that you get a second opinion. My daughter has had a cough for about 2 months and it has gotten worse I took her to see the doc on saturday and she said that she should be getting better and i foind out klast night that she now has pnemonia. To be careful just get a second opinon so that it is not getting worse.

i was bringing her to her ped that said it would get better andit wasnt. so i took her to see my doc that said it is pnemonia. so it was hte second opinion. i dont think it is chicken pox as they arnt turning into blisters or anything. ive just been making sure i dont over heat her and a bath everyday and not giving her any new food or anything.

Be careful of a bath everyday that could irritate it. Emilie had a rash last year on her chin and neck from drooling and my ped said I could use cortisone 10 on it. You could also try a little diaper rash cream as long as it's not on her hands.

i thought about htat. it was going away today. you couldnt see it as much on her forehead and then she took a nap on me. her side that was against me is covered with them now!!! it has to be a heat rash. maybe im over dressing her.

Is there something that you are using on your clothes? Different detergent or perfume? I used the dreft detergent on Emilie's clothes and my own for the first year. Now I use ALL free and clear for both. How is the temp inside your house? It gets cold here (not as bad as where you live) and I put a onesie and then her clothes. This way I can remove a shirt or something if she gets too warm.

Thats good they are clearing up. Was she taking antibiotics? I get rashes from most of them, I hadn't thought of that earlier. It does sound like heat rash, poor baby.
