I need some advice! My 5 month old daughter used to go to other people no problem, but recently she only wants daddy or mommy. She won't even go to my mom and dad who she sees all of the time! So many people want to hold her and within seconds she starts screaming. I feel rude denying everyone who wants to hold her, but I also don't want to spend the next 10 minutes calming her because she wasn't with me. I have even tried being in her eyesight so she knows I didn't leave and that doesn't work. I know this is a developmental milestone to be weary of strangers, but to be weary of my mom and dad? I really need some help!!!

It sounds like separation anxiety, most babies and kids grow out of it. My daughter was really bad with it too around 6 months, now it just takes her a little time to adjust to who is around her. She sometimes cries with her grandparents and my sister, I just let her sit with me for a few minutes at first and then she will go to them.

true, my daughter is very shy around other ppl now. i cant jsut arrive somewehre and put her down right away. i hope it ends soon. some days it makes me feel special knowing she wants me and only me. not even her dad. but now that the new baby is coming i hope she gets better before then. lol
