My son is also a VERY picky veggie eater. What has sometimes worked for me is to pick the veggie he says he likes (carrots) and put baby carrot or two on every dinner plate, He also likes cucumbers so that is an option...I only make him taste whatever veggie is on my plate, one tiny bite...it exposes him to the taste and even if he doesnt like it, he gets his carrot...the V8 veggie/fruit juice combo is a good way to get the nutrients in him if your little one doesnt even do cukes...Hope this helps...if you find the magic cure for the listening problem...let me know!!!!!!!!!!! |

Also start your other baby early and keep giving him his veggies...hopefully he will learn to eat them from the begining...I wish I had known how hard veggies would be when mine was younger!!! |

Try just putting them on his plate with his meals, but don't force him to eat them. My sister has been having luck doing this with her 5 yo, she does have him try a bite. She also hides veggies in other foods, for example she will put zucchini in the blender and mix it with mashed potatoes or add some melted cheese on all kinds of veggies. And of coarse she sometimes bribes him with m&m's that he can have after dinner. |

My girl loves to "dip" stuff. Carrots, celery etc. go better when she has ranch dressing, or even ketchup to dip in! |

I started my daughter young with the veggies. Here are a few tips. Lentil soup, with carrots and celery you can even mash the carrots and celery so they do not know it is in there. I make patins with butter, grated chese and cut up spinach. They do not even tast it in there. Basically, you can add spince, freshto any fruit smootie and blend, it is undetectable, the flavor of the fruit masks it. Beef stew, and mash the peas, carrots and potatoes. |

I just started the whole "hiding" veggie trick these week. I use the food processor to squash it up. Go to the bookstore and take a look at Jessica Seinfeld's new book to get the idea. I have been hiding cauliflower in my son's scrambled eggs, carrots or sweet potatoes in his spaghetti sauce, peas with his mac and cheese, and he hasn't got a clue. Works on my husband, too. Good luck! |
