throwing food on the floor

Anyone have any advice about 1 year old's throwing food on the floor?  I know it's perfectly normal, but do they actually outgrow it?  If so, when!

Thanks!

My 14 month old was throwing his cup on the floor after every sip, and it was getting very frustrating to me. He is in a booster seat and sits at the table with us. I started paying close attention, and when he was getting ready to throw it, I would take it and set it on the table. I would say ' no throwing, set your cup on the table.' The I would guide his hand to the table and help him set the cup down instead of taking it from him, and say the same thing again. After we set it down, I would say, 'yes, good job' and clap my hands. Within a few days of when I started this, he started setting his cup on the table on his own, then clap his hands. Each time he does it, we clap our hands.

Try something like this, but say 'no throwing food. Food stays on the plate.' Guide his hands when you see him getting ready to throw it, and praise him a lot when you both do it together. Hopefully soon he will be doing it on his own. When he gets it, continue praising him.
