SLEEP ON THEIR OWN
My daughter is now 7 months and she still will not go to sleep without me holding her. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get her to go to sleep on her own.

let her cry!!! i had the same problem. my daughte rwould not sleep at all if i was holding haer nad then one day i said enough and put her in her crib and shout the door. not easy, but it was worth it. i did it at 7 months too. she is 9 months old now and is wonderful and falls asleep alone. its nice. good luck...

Put her down just before she falls asleep, then stay and rub her back as she falls asleep. Then gradually start putting her down earlier. Once you can lay her down when she is awake, start leaving her room earlier.

Have a bedtime routine, so she will be able to anticipate the transition to going to bed. Put her to bed before she is overtired, as that makes it harder to go to sleep. Sometimes people keep their children up later thinking it will help, but often it makes it harder.

If you do decide to let her cry it out, take comfort in the fact that it will probably take only a few nights. It is the fastest way, but the hardest.
