weaning off the bottle
I wanted to start weaning Keara off the bottle, but she is giving everyone a hard time. I am the only one who is being strict about it. How do i get the babysitter to deal with Keara crying and resist the bottle? I have given up trying to get Keara's daddy to co-operate, and figured after her doctor's appt on 11-1-07 he'll try a little harder...but so far she is off the bottle on the weekends and at nights, but when she is with him or the sitter they both say that she is impossible!!!!

Have you tired the sippy cups with a soft top? Most of the brands make them and it helped my daughter make the transition easier. I also started with water or juice before I put milk in it.

The problem isn't with her taking the sippy cups I give her. I have a few Gerber, and nuby cups. The problem is with the lack of patience from the Babysitter. I just got off the phone with her and she was complaining that I didn't give her a back-up bottle.

If she is drinking from the sippy with no problems, then maybe just send those to the sitters. This way there are no bottles. Are there other babies at the sitters? It is possible that if your daughter sees another baby with a bottle she will want one. Would it be that bad to just let her have a bottle at the sitters? She will eventually stop using one, most babies stop by two.
