4 month old CONSTANTLY spitting up!?
My son has been spitting up since pretty much 2 weeks of age. He started out on similac advanced then isomil soy, then gentlease then nutramigan [spelling?] it just seemed to be getting worse. on my own, i decided to put him back on similac advanced at about 6 weeks old and he stopped spitting up completely until about 2 1/2 months old. That when his spitting up started up AGAIN! the pediatrician put him on zantac drops which didnt help. after, he was taking 2 teaspoons of maalox a day. helped the first night but again started spitting up. ive taken him to a pediatric gastro and they said hes not allergic to formula and there really isnt anything they can do. supposedly from 3-6 month tons of babies spit up. he spits up about 2 oz. in between feeding. he eats about 5-6 oz every 4 hrs. sometimes a bit less. i thicken the bottle with 2 teaspoons of cereal an ounce, burp him and sit him upright for about 30-45 minutes. now, he is on good start formula but even still hes spitting up. HELP!

Can you try cutting down how much he is drinking? Like 4oz every 3 to 4 hrs. It is very common for babies to spit up, some more then others. I was told by my ped not to change formulas too often because that too can cause spitting up. Also try getting a burp out every 2 oz's that might help too.

my daughter spit up so much we had to bring extra clothes with for us bc we got puked on allthe time so i can relate! she'd eat 4 oz and spit 2 back up. she is on soy formula. we had to burp her every ounce. and she still spit up. and then when seh was like 5 months or so, it just quit. like over night. now she does once in a while, but rarely. it will pass, they jsut do it.
