Quick Tips for a Website Your Visitors Will Love!

Our first official web design tip entry:

Here is a quick list of website do's & don't's, and following them may just improve your sales!

Don't:

Clutter your pages with too much content. The average "surfer" will get overwhelmed & leave, probably never to come back.

Use bad or irrelevant graphics. Your visitors should not be confused by differences between content & graphics, or turned off by ugly ones.

Use busy backgrounds that text is not easily visible on. If people can't read your content, they will find another site.

Use clashing background & text colors because it hurts your visitor's eyes, which will also prompt them to move on.

Use similar background & text colors, as the text will blend in, and your visitors won't be able to read it, prompting them to...(I think you get the picture by now).

Use navigation that changes on every page, as this is confusing,

Do:

Make your site clean, and easy to read.

Make content clear, and concise.

Use quality, relevant graphics in moderation.

Make it interesting & give it depth without making it busy.

Use complimentary colors to give the site a cohesive feel.

Keep navigation uniform throughout the site.
