no sleep! |
My daughter just turned 10 months old and has started to be really really active during the day. She now only takes half hour naps, and I've tried to get her to sleep more but she just wants to discover everything. She is now going to sleep earlier (around 8) and yet now she is waking up at 12/1, 3, and 5. She was sleeping through the night since she was 4 weeks old, but now is starting the same schedule she had as a newborn! i don't know what to do anymore. I've tried to get the babysitter to get her to sleep more but with all the activity and other kids at the house, she only takes one half hour nap. Please does anyone have any suggestions to help me get a full nights sleep?!?! |

James used to sleep through the night 2 months ago. Since he is teething, he wakes up frequently. Two nights ago, he woke up every hour and last night he woke up every 2 hours. Last two days, he's been waking up at 6:30 am. I can relate. I miss the days he used to wake up at 8 am.
I see you mention about a babysitter and other kids. Maybe she is too stimulated and has no desire to nap. I have the same problem with James. He doesn't want to miss out on anything, so he fights it.
Sorry I don't have any suggestions about how to a full nights sleep. I would love to get a full nights sleep too. I am so exhausted as well.

A wise mother once told me "and this too shall pass". As one challenging stage ends another begins. She is at an age where she knows if she sleeps she will miss out. Life is amazing when you are 1. My only suggestion is to try to stick to a routine even if she doesnt sleep put her down at the same time and let her "rest" and at night try not to go to her. If she wakes up let her go for a while. If she wont go back to sleep just step into her room, avoid eye contact and rub her back or sing or whatever calms her and then leave again. If she doesnt get the attention she may just give up and put herself to sleep. We use a lovey and nighttime music and when our son wakes up we just hit play on the CD and he falls back to sleep and so do we!! |
