my 17 month old son has always had a habit of banging his head back and forth on his headboard in order to fall asleep. in the beginning i thought it was a phase that would fade with age, but now that he's older it is getting to be more aggressive. i've talked to the pediatrician about this and she describes it as a soothing technique. should i get a 2nd opinion?
My son is 3 now and he still does that. Every child finds a way to sooth themselves. Some suck on their thumbs and some carry a blanket. Your little one is just fine. I have been to many doc. asking the same question and they all say the same thing. It is normal.
