HELP! My son has never actually had apetite problems unless he has had an ear infection and now all of a sudden he is showing very little interest in food and only drinks formula if coerced and then only about 2 ounces or so at a time. He used to drink 6 ounces and eat 3 to four jars of baby food. Today I could barely get him to drink 12 ounce and he only ate 3/4 of a jar the whole day. I don't know if that's normal and if i should call the doctor. I am already a worrier and run into the doctor for everything so I don't want to do that unless this is an "emergency". He is playing fine and seems okay, physically though. Just a little extra fussing but no big deal. Is this normal????
You may want to call your ped, just to be safe. Is he teething or maybe have a fever? It just seems a big drop in the amount of food.

Yes, it sounds completely normal. In general, being sick interferes with your appetite, but an ear infection could be making him particularly uncomfortable. Make sure he is sitting as upright as possible when you give him his bottle, and don't push him too much if he doesn't want it. Same with the baby food.
Since he seems fine otherwise, just wait a little while. If it continues for more than a couple of days call the doctor because there could be something else going on.
And by the way, don't worry about calling the doctor too often. They understand that parents worry. That's what they are there for- to help you and your child.
