Swollen glands

Hi,

I'm curious if anyone has any problem with their children having swollen glands in the back of their children's head/neck? My 11 month old has had swollen glands on and off a few times. They are the size of peas and move with the skin. She hasn't been sick though and she's really happy and growing. My pediatrician said it's normal if they've had an infection, but I don't believe she has. I don't want to make something more out of it if it's not a problem, but it worries me. Any thoughts??

Hi Jodi,
My daughter doesn't get them but I do. I don't usually have cold symptoms when they are there and they go away in a few days. I do notice that they can be tender to the touch. As long as your ped knows she is getting them and they are not large I wouldn't worry too much. It's just her body fighting off a cold.

My son at 3 still gets them. The Doc. said it could be from allergy's.
