Today is the day that I recommit. I have been on "vacation" far too long. I didn't walk for over two weeks. I finally did last night for thirty minutes.
I'm joining a local Weight Loss Challenge. Each person is putting up 25 bucks and we are weighing in tomorrow. It's going on until mid November. The person who loses the biggest percentage of their original weight wins the pot. So far we have 11 people who say they are in. Nice bit of Christmas spending money eh?
I'm doing my own version of an induction period which officially starts tomorrow since that's when the challenge starts. Don't get me wrong I'm not goofing off today by any means. It just takes me a couple of days to take on new "rules". I'm giving myself these rules for the first two weeks of the challenge to give it a kick start. Basically it's my little bootcamp. I REALLY want to win this challenge in more ways than one. I want to win the money but more so I want to get more weight off my bones!
First off I need to set a realistic goal for the entire challenge. The challenge is either 17 or 18 weeks, I'm waiting to find out. I think it's fair to say I could lose 40 pounds safely in that amount of time. WOW! That looks good in black print!! They would be some nice holiday pics now wouldn't they???
I CAN DO THIS. I CAN WIN. I WILL WIN.
My boot camp rules for the first week are:
1. No eating after 7:30 2. No junk food at all. IE: Empty calories. 3. No alcohol (this would fall under the empty calorie rule but wth.) 4. I will exercise six days a week. 5. I will drink four PLAIN glasses of water a day minimum.
There you have it. It's going to be hard but it is what it is. I'd like to incorporate a phase two of this plan that will still be strict but not as strict, like maybe lighten up the exercise to four days and two empty calorie pleasures a week or something along those lines. Hopefully I can up the water anty too.
Lisa I am very inspired by you. I have been ignoring my weight gain since having my son. I am fortunately one of those people that think I look better than I really do. It's hard to stick to a diet when you don't see what the mirror is really showing. It helps not having a full length mirror in the house. LOL However, I need to loose the 40pds that I put on thru my pregnancy. So...you have now inspired me to join forces with you tomorrow. I am sending positive energy your way. I hope you keep us posited with your results and I would love to hear your rules as the weeks gone on!!!!!!
