Please Give Us Another
Please Give Us Another
Lord we've been blessed with a son
But there's room for more
Could we possibly bring another one
Through that front door?
Come little one, He said, there's work to be done
Look right there, do you see the one?
The home that currently consists of three
The center of attention you soon shall be
They have struggled to be patient, but they're ready for you now
"But why them?" you ask with a furrow in your brow
There are many who could raise you but these two are unique
She is gentle, shy and quiet, and he you've just gotta meet
I've sent them a child before you, a boy whom they shower with love
He too has been asking for a sister to come from up above
"Another boy just won't do" he's said "It has to be a girl.
Around my long strong fingers, her chubby hand can curl"
"She's got to love froggs...and fish and dogs and cats
But to get her here quicker she may need a little pat"
"We've been waiting for her forever" he says "But judging by Mama's tears,
Your apparently not done with her, it may be another year!"
As often as they prayed for you little one
My work with them just wasn't done
But they have waited long enough you see
It's time they raise from bended knee
For they finally seem to realize
The biggest display of faith with lie
In the love and trust that you hold in your beautiful brown eyes.
Lord thank you for this little one
I marvel at the work You've done
You've given us a precious boy
And now this happy bundle of joy!
