Harry Potter |
Caleb is going to be 4 in September and is totally into Harry Potter! He's seen all of the movies that have come out on video and he has an authentic replica of Harry Potter's wand that we got at FAO swarts and he goes around casting spells on the cat, or on his baby brother. :) He wants a Harry Potter Birthday party and has asked for the Action figures, which is probably something he will get... He's seen the movie trailer for the Order of the Pheonix and wants to see it. I have been so back and forth about taking him to the theater to see it. I knew that I would go to see it regardless, but I still needed to decide to take him with me or not. Sometimes I thought, NOT, because it will be a much darker movie then the previous movies and that it would be better to wait till it came out on video. Other times I thought, FINE, he'll be fine with it and he will love it! I've asked other moms and most of them think that their kids (same age) are too young to see the first movie, let alone the one that is about to come out... I did find a few moms whos kids like these movies, but they are also unsure about the new one. Anyways... I've gone ahead and I bought tickets for a showing at the IMAX theater on Saturday morning and I DID buy him a ticket... He's going to love it!!! He's so excited about it! Daddy even brought home a HP movie Poster for him from work. (he works for Time Warner/AOL) I guess we will see how it goes! |

i have to say, i think he is too young. this one is suppose to be more mature than the other ones. dont hyou think it would be better to wait until it came out so that if you hve to shut it off you can? you c ould take him out of the theater if it is too much for him but hten you risk him screaming or getting mad if he doesnt want to leave, which chances are he wont. but mom knows best i guess. let us know how it goes, |

I think he is way too young to watch any of the Harry Potter movies. There is evil and which craft and spells and much more that shouldn't get into little minds at that age. There are much nicer things to be interested in at that age. As a parent you know what's the right and wrong way to think. I know they don't know at that age but you do. I have a three year old boy and I can't imagine him watching those movies.
Too much to understand at that age. my opinion. |

The new movie seems darker then the other 3, but I am sure he will be fine as long as you are there with him to explain this it is make believe. If he really likes Harry Potter then I am sure he will love the movie. Have fun. |

I can see where other kids his age would be scared, but he really likes it. The kids in our neighborhood that are his age are into swords and guns, and they watch movies like Star Wars and Piriates. They fight each other and get hurt a lot. I don't mind the wands because he is never really close to anyone... and he knows it is all pretend. The Washington Podt came out with a review that said that this new movie was no darker then the last one that came out. If that is so, then I really think he will be fine. We are also getting there early so that we can get a seat by the door... just in case. |
