baby boy's penis swollen--please help

Last night I noticed that my 3 month old baby boy's penis was swollen around the tip of the foreskin. I'm not sure what has caused this. My mother came over this past weekend and bathed him and used soap around the outside of the penis which is different than what i usually do--I usually just use warm water, so I don't know if it got irritated because of that or not. Also, I often have to pull the foreskin down and clean the tip of his penis because he gets lots of lint from the diaper stuck to the tip of his penis. Anyway, has this happened to anyone? Since last night I have been putting Desitin on the tip of the penis and foreskin, but haven't noticed an improvement yet.

It could be infected, my nephew's were not circumsized and the older boy had gotten an infection on his penis. Check with your dr to be sure.

Was he circumsized? Have you talk to a nurse at your Pediatrician's office. If he was circumsized, it may just be irritated. I did not know that his foreskin needs to be pulled back until he is well over a year or more depending on how it heals. My son had to have his pulled away again at about 5 months, because I didn't pull it back enough.
