I have two weird problems!!
The first one is ever since i had my daughter 8 months ago, i sweat non stop. they told me it was hormonal and it would go away but it hasnt and i cant stop sweating, what do i do? i already take thyroid meds and they said my count is fine and i have an IUD inserted that is suppose to regulate me - so why is this happening? my next problem, whenever i feed the baby a bottle or spoon feed, stroll her carriage or sleep, my hands - both of them go numb on me, why? i have more since the baby has been born like non stop floaters and wetting myself but i am sure no one wants to hear everything. i am just annoyed that nothing has gone away. is it my age? i am 37 years old.

an endocrinologist is a doctor who specializes in hormones, metabolism, adrenal diseases and diabetes. you should make a point of going to one because it is extremely common and is happening to a good friend of mine right now, after a mom has a baby, her thyroid becomes out of whack for a while and sometimes permanently, either it goes to fast which would make your heart rase, extreme sweating, etc., or slow down which is gaining wait, bloating, depression, fatigue, constipation, etc. usually all women experience at some time. you just go to a doctor who specialize in it because sometimes regular doctors when they give you a blood test they misread the numbers or dont take the right blood test, a specialist will know right away. definitely check it out because my friends thyroid got so bad that they had to give her radiation to kill her thyroid and now she is having trouble dealing with having a slow thyroid - which is what i have been told i have - had it for a very long time. i think however it has changed on me and that is why i am sweating to death all the time. i notice when i dont take my thyroid meds, i dont sweat.

I'm curious about your results and what the dr says too. I have been experiencing the same thing since delivering my son. I feel you frustration. Now I'm pregnant again, so there's all kinds of stuff out of wack!

I have had this problem too. Try a product called "Certain Dry". I bought it at CVS in the deodorant section but I have seen it at Walmart too. I saw an article on this very subject in the newspaper once and this product was suggested. I tried it and it works! It's a roll on that you put on when you go to bed and then shower in the morning, and you are good to go.

I had this problem when I moved to Florida; it was like my body completely changed - and that was before my kid! Try the new Secret Clinical Strength. It isn't too irritating to your skin.

I went through this with my daughter and son. I noticed that it was especially bad when I was breast feeding. I felt that I always had body odor. I tried that new prescription strength deodorant by secret. It costs around 7-8 dollars and you put it on at night. In the morning I also put on my regular deodorant. It worked great. I noticed a huge change. It controlled the sweating and the odor.

Hi Mary Anne,

I would say that I was sweating for at least a year after my daughter was born, and if I had a glass of wine, I would sweat and get flushed almost immediately. For how bad it was, it did go away after about a year....so hang in there. I also had the numb hands, and actually get them when I am doing fine motor things (blow drying hair, writing, etc). My doctor had said it was fluid retention when I was pregnant, and it takes a while to go away. They are both very normal, however, after a year has passed and you have no signs of a let up, I would probably go back to your doctor. I hope by the time you read this, all those symptoms are gone!
