I was also having a hard time with all that at first, but then i would clean when my son would take his first nap, then when the house work was done it would be time for him to wake up then i would spend time with xavier, then his next nap if there was any house work left i would finish then take a shower or just sit and relax, he normally napped for 2 hours at a time so in the first two hours i would try my hardest to get the house work done so his next nap time would be for me or to cook...ect. does that help at all? |

I know that this may seem strange, but I have a “schedule” posted for myself. It tells me what needs to be done everyday (yes, sometimes everything doesn’t get done). I have a schedule printed out for everyday of the week (so I know what is going on and what needs to be done).
Example:
6:30a put in a load of laundry
6:35a take a shower (this way when I am done taking a shower then the wash is ready to
go into the dryer)
7:30a get Kyle up
8:00a breakfast
(I fold the laundry while he is eating)
PLAYTIME
10:30a Nap
Pick up around the house
12:30p end of nap
PLAYTIME
4:00p Nap
Cook dinner
5:00p Eat
Playtime
8:15p Bed time
Relax until 10p
To me when I can see it then I know that it needs to be done. I hope that helps.

It took me a long time to get it together, but when your child can start entertaining himself, you'd be surprised what you can get done while he's awake. Try doing the dishes while he's playing with tupperware on the floor, or while he's eating a snack in his high chair. Put a baby Einstien's video on while you do laundry, and while he's taking his afternoon nap, sit and read, or watch your favorite show. Even if you only do it for 15-30 minutes it helps and you don't need to feel guilty. You can also set a date night and stick to it. my kids are 4 & 3 now, so they watch a video in their room, around 6:30pm and then when it's over it's bedtime. They know it's date night for us, and they get something special as well. we do this every thursday night. my husband and I don't go anywhere usually, but we love it, because we can watch a movie or play a game earlier so we aren't too tired to do anything later in bed ;-) It is very important to spend time with your mate, and keep up what attracted you to him in the first place. |
