| How do we know who to trust? |
| With so much conflicting information out there about vaccinations, flouride, organic food and whatever other concerns you can think of, how do you know what is right? Vaccines can cause autism? Flouride can cause ADD? Is that true? It seems like both sides present such compelling arguments backed up by research and verified by well educated doctors and scientists. Who is right? How are parents supposed to know what to do? |

Hello Marcia, I feel the same way, "they" are always changing what is "good" and "bad" for you and your kids. I have a 7 month old and only now started giving him water with flouride, but at 50/50 ratio. My dentist said he should have it from birth, my ped said 6 months. So I am in the middle??? I am very concerned about chemicals in general, baby wipes, soaps with added chemical scents ( is that necessary, he's supposed to smell like a baby ) air fresheners, cleaning agents, even microwave steralizers (plastic releases chemicals when nuked). Sometimes I feel over paranoid, but take it in stride not to over do it. My mom thinks I'm nuts b/c she exposed us to everything in site. . . As far as the vaccines and autism, there was a great article in ped's for parents that dissolved any claim that it is true. I have a B/A in biological science and a teaching degree, and I think I know too much !!! Well we will have to use our best judgement and not look back. . . just love em!

| i was worried about the same things, now i just do what i am told by my doctor and hope for the best. i cant live my life scared. i give her whatever i think is right. she gets her shots even though it scares me. she drinks regular water with flouride during snack time, i give organic food if i find a type i think she will eat otherwise its regular baby food. just do your best. everyone is in the same boat. but my friends sister did not give her daughter any shots and she has never been sick a day in her life and she is now three years old. not even a cold. so may be there is something to the shots. |
