My little girl is 4 weeks old and seems to have broken out in zits all over her cheeks and the back of her neck. She is eating fine and sleeping fine, not scratching or even crying any ore than usual - she seems just as happy as always but I am totally freaked out - we have a Dr appointment later in the week but just wondered if any one has any ideas to help her out and/or calm a very anxious mummy...

Emily, it is baby acne and is completely normal. Don't put any cream or lotion on them. They will go away in a few weeks. Do not try to pop them or they could scar.

I reccommend What To Expect The First Year. It is a great book that explains all of these little things that we worry about constantly.

My 2 1/2 month old also had the acne on his cheeks and neck but it was short lived and went away within a few weeks. I didn't use anything, but my pediatrician did say that I could use a little aquaphor. My baby's pediatrician also explained that my hormones were still running through my baby and that could be why he was breaking out. But now his cheeks are all cleared up and as soft as can be.
